This is a comprehensive glossary of the history, geography, beliefs and customs as represented in Amos Fortune Free Man by Elizabeth Yates. There are over 90 entries including English words, historical and geographical terms and more that can’t commonly be found in a middle school student’s dictionary. To accommodate the different editions of Amos Fortune Free Man, words are listed by chapter in the order they appear in the book with an alphabetical index in the back. Included in the Introduction is a brief essay to assist readers in understanding the overall context of the story.
