This is a comprehensive glossary of the culture, customs and language of early 1900 England as represented in A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. There are approximately 200 entries for English words, British dialect, medical terms, foreign language terms and more that can’t commonly be found in an elementary dictionary. To accommodate the different editions of A Little Princess, words are listed by chapter in the order they appear in the book with an alphabetical index in the back.
